The “man,” Christ Jesus, was “made
perfect/mature” by the things which He
suffered.
[1 Timothy 2:5; Hebrews 5:8]
When the Apostle Paul was being
commissioned to become God's chosen vessel to bear His name before the
Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: God said, “I will show him how great things he must suffer for My
name's sake.” [Acts 9:16]
And, as Paul pressed toward the
mark for the prize of his high calling, in Christ
Jesus; to “mark”/or
model the perfect man,
his prayer became, “That I may know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and
the fellowship of His sufferings, being made conformable unto His death;” [Phil
3:14; Ps 37:37; Phil 3:10]
“As intimacy grows, the very words
we speak to Him, He speaks back to us,” saying, “Be ye
(being made) perfect, even as your Father ...is
perfect.”
[Pastor; Matt 5:48]
