What's "Love" Got To Do With It?

The Apostle Paul concluded, though he spake with    other tongues, and operated in the gifts of the Spirit; 

if he did not have “love” he was nothing.

[1 Cor 13:1-2]

“Love” is who God is, and what He does ...so much so that He commended His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.                          [1 Jn 4:8; Jn 3:16; Rom 5:8] 

To know (or be intimately acquainted with) Abba, from the Spirit within, is to know “love.” [Pastor]

 Jesus said: “Greater 'love' hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. You are My friends if you do whatsoever I command you ...(and) this is My commandment, that you 'love' one another, as I have loved you.”

[John 15:13-14; 12]

Powered Up For Real

In a recent visit to our family Master Mechanic's garage, I overheard a conversation about how to maximize your mileage and engine performance; by using only high octane fuel. Only the best fuel available will suffice, for a high performance engine.

Knowing His disciples would be unable to witness effectively without being especially equipped; Jesus said:

“But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto Me.”

[Acts 1:8]

 Then, Jesus added: “When the (Holy Ghost) is come ...He shall testify (give proof/or show evidence) of Me.”

Real proof of the existence of the true and living God.

'You won't always “feel” Me, but I will “fill” you.'

Pentecost: An "Inside" Job!

While writing this missive, I overheard a man of God describe Pentecost as 'The Grand Entrance.'

And I began to reconnect the dots of scripture, from man's first “breath” [Gen 2:7] to God's grande entree into history [Jn 1:1,14]; as the Word made flesh.

Later on, after fulfilling Passover; and as a prelude to Pentecost, Jesus (the Word) “breathed” on His disciples and said: “Receive ye the Holy Ghost;” who dwelleth with you, and shall be IN you. 

[John 20:22; 14:16-17]

When the day of Pentecost was fully come, it brought the purpose of God (in creation) full circle; to wit that the Spirit of God would dwell IN us, and do His works.

There Must Be Pentecost Before Tabernacles

On the day of Pentecost, the cloven tongues of fire came “upon” the 120, in the upper room; before they were all “filled” with the Holy Ghost (or they entered into another “state of being”).

We were created to be temples/tents/tabernacles/containers of the Spirit of God, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us; to dwell/abide/and remain. [2 Cor 4:7]

The Holy Ghost changes/or alters our mental paradigm, and introduces us to the reality of the invisible things of God. [Pastor]

It is written: “The tabernacle/tent/habitation of God is with men, and He will dwell/reside with them, and they shall be His people.”

[Rev 21:3]
