The parable of The Sower (or The
Soils), in Luke chapter 8, is the context for the difference between “Hearing”
and “The Hearing;” distinguished by “faith.”
[Pastor]
After the “sowing of the Word,”
they that heard it either had the Word taken away from their hearts, by the
devil; or they fell from the Way in a time of temptation, and let the Word slip
from their grasp. Or the Word was choked with the cares, riches, and pleasures
of this life; and brought no fruit to harvest.
[Luke 8:11-14]
On the other hand, “The Hearing”
of The Word, sown in an honest and good heart, is kept; or mixed with faith,
and it brings forth much fruit. Therefore, Take heed how ye hear, for The Lord
searches all hearts.
[Luke 8:15; Hebrews 4:2; Lk 8:18;
1 Chron 28:9b]
