Our understanding concerning the
“promises” of God is still shallow, because of our “fallow ground” (or
“uncultivated insides”). [Pastor]
We still tend to view God as a
'genie' who grants our every wish; misunderstanding that the “promises” of God
are inseparable from His “covenant.” [Pastor]
The Hymn writer wrote: HIS OATH, HIS COVENANT, HIS BLOOD, SUPPORT ME IN THE
WHELMING FLOOD.
The “promises” of God are meant
to lead us to “know” Him, in the dynamic of the relationship that He intentionally
created us for. [Pastor; 2 Cor 1:20]
We come to “know” (or yada) the
Father, not by standing back from His “promises” in order to look at
them; but by active intimate participation and engagement with Him,
through His “promises.” [Pastor]
You could say that We Are Here to
be a reflection of His “glory,” and “Light.” [John 17:22]
