A popular, local, fast food
restaurant's advertising slogan is “You Gotta Eat!”
That sentiment came to mind, when
pondering the significant fact that “Man cannot live by
bread alone, but by every word (the
living Bread of God) that proceedeth (from heaven) out of the
mouth of God...and giveth Life unto the world.”
[Matt 4:4; Jn 6:33]
When Jesus expressed this truth to
the people, they said to Him, “Lord, evermore give us this bread.” And His
response was, “Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of
man, and drink His blood, ye have no life in you.”
[Jn 6:53]
We are learning that “eating” is
the process of “hearing” and “believing;” that transforms us into “askers” and
“receivers.”
