Pentecost: The Fruit vs. The Gifts

The church, at Corinth, is a graphic example of how a person can walk in the “gifts” of the Spirit, but be unable to manifest the “fruit” of the Spirit. For they were charismatic, abounding in the “gifts” of the Spirit, yet carnal; lacking the “fruit” of the  Spirit; which is Love.
[1 Cor 12:7-10; 3:3; Gal 5:22-23]

Hence, there is little profit in working miracles, prophesing, discerning spirits, operating in divers tongues, with the interpretation thereof; speaking words of wisdon and knowledge, without the “fruit” of the Spirit.

Jesus said, “I never knew you;” to those who said to Him, “Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Thy name? and ...cast out devils? and in Thy name done many wonderful works?”
[Luke 10:20]

Proving, once again, that it is not the “gift” that bears witness of the indwelling/abiding  Spirit of God, but Love is the ultimate evidence of the “fruit” of the Spirit.

Remember, “Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.”
[John 3:5]

ThenSingsMySoul:

HERE'S MY CUP, LORD,
I LIFT IS UP, LORD,
COME AND FILL THIS THIRSTING IN MY SOUL.
HOLY SPIRIT FILL ME TIL I WANT NO MORE;

HERE'S MY CUP, FILL IT UP AND MAKE ME WHOLE.
