The scriptures tell us that, during His first sojourn; here on earth, Jesus made Himself of “no reputation;” but humbled Himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
[Phil 2:8]
John, the Baptist, said of Christ; the Lamb of God, who would take away the sin of the world: “ He [Christ] must increase, but I must decrease.” After all, [His glory] is not about us. Hence, it is written of us; who belong to Christ, that “they loved not their lives unto death.”
“Self (I/me/my) is not the center of attraction.” Self (I/me/my) must die!
[Jn 1:29; 3:30; Rev 12:11; Pastor]
As the hour of His crucifixion approached, Jesus said, “Father ...not My will, but Thine be done ... glorify Thy name.”
[Lk 22:42; Jn 12:28a]
Then came there a voice from heaven, saying, “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again”
[Jn 12:28b]
For “I the Lord have called Thee [My Servant] in righteousness, and will ...give Thee for a covenant of the people...and My glory will I not give to another...”
[Isa 42:6, 8]
